Hand made in Scotland.
Based on the 1952 pattern English Army officer's coat.
Our N.S.C 1952 PATTERN coats are each individually made by craftsmen, using methods of production that were originally patented in 1824.
The rubber bonded (vulcanised) cloth is glued at the seams using a specially formulated glue (still made to this day by the greatgrandson of the glue factory founder).
Vulcanised cotton tape is applied by hand over the interior seams to fully waterproof the garment. Special rollers are used to fully bond the tape and ensure the signature flat seams. This is difficult enough to master on flat seams such as the body, but requires special skill using tailors domes, on shoulders and arm-holes.
This is a unique garment. Owning one, is to own a piece of history.
Please note, sizing is generous so a size down is advised.
