Barbara DeUgarte has had an interest in art from her childhood through her career in medicine. Most of her free time throughout her life has been spent in the studying and practicing of different forms of art. Barbara has learned from many different artist and has incorperated their teachings into her own technique that she has worked on for many years.

Barbara currently resides in Gettysburg and uses the inspiration of the battlefield and surrounding country side for many of her paintings. Most of her work centers on the effects of light on a form and color and how this can be used to elicit feeling in the viewer.
